Amsterdam Smart City is a collaborative initiative that connects innovative companies, research institutions, public authorities, and engaged citizens to develop sustainable urban solutions. It serves as an interactive platform for urban interaction and sustainability, driving smart mobility, economic growth, and technological advancements in the city of Amsterdam. 

This project was developed by Moqod, a daughter company of Opinov8, leveraging its expertise in software development to build an innovative and future-proof digital platform for the city.

Business CHALLENGE

The initiative aimed to create a digital ecosystem that fosters innovation and sustainability while enabling active participation from various stakeholders. The goal was to develop a platform that enhances urban life, promotes smart city solutions, and ensures smooth collaboration between businesses, government entities, and the public.

Smart city initiatives leverage technology to create a more connected and sustainable environment. Amsterdam Smart City aligns with this vision, integrating innovative digital solutions to address modern urban needs.

SOLUTION

Interactive Digital Platform

Moqod developed a scalable digital platform that connects over 8,000 members and organizations, allowing them to collaborate and take action on urban sustainability. The platform facilitates seamless interaction between stakeholders and fosters a culture of innovation.


First and foremost, Opiov8 started to work on the wireframes design and created 2,500 user stories, and did the release every two weeks through an Agile process.

Real-Time Data Visualization

Moqod collaborated with the Municipality of Amsterdam and Tapp to create a real-time dashboard that visualizes crowd sizes in the Marineterrein area. The system, known as Public Eye, uses city cameras to anonymously track density, movement, and safe distances between people. 

Native Mobile App with AR

Moqod developed native iOS and Android applications that allow users to explore Amsterdam Smart City initiatives. A key feature of the app is its augmented reality (AR) functionality, which enables users to point their cameras at locations in the city and view future urban developments in real-time.


As soon as the product was released, Opinov8 continued working on new features, optimizing existing functionality, platform scalability, security, and reporting. Through collaborative work with Hastee, Opinov8 managed to implement all ideas with its innovative technical approach.

Amsterdam Smart City has become a global benchmark for smart city initiatives, attracting hundreds of innovation tourists and urban technology experts. 

The platform fosters collaboration between businesses, governments, and citizens, enhancing urban sustainability and smart mobility. 




By leveraging real-time data monitoring and open-source AI solutions, it has strengthened Amsterdam’s position as a leading smart city model.

The implementation of microservices architecture and AI-driven monitoring has significantly improved system scalability and flexibility. Additionally, the mobile applications, featuring AR capabilities, provide an engaging and interactive way for users to explore and experience smart city developments in real-time.


For now, Opinov8 supports almost everything the market can request, even if it's about exclusive payrolls whose configuration is fully customized. The idea of a capped fee model was implemented and released to provide users with regular discounts. Now Hastee cashout amounts are improving from month to month, making Opinov8, Hastee teams, and UK users awesomely happy.

Thanks to close collaboration, Opinov8 met clients' expectations and implemented all the required features in one application.
